What is the role of a HR Business Partner?

The HR Business Partner will be assisting clients in various industries from general HR inquiries to complex issues that may arise over e-mail/phone and occasionally on-site.

Responsibilities

  • To support all clients with quality advice in a productive manner to provide efficient, solution-based advice, predominantly through e-mail, but occasionally via phone and onsite
  • To receive a variety of e-mails/calls from clients with HR issues or queries, which can include absence management, disciplinaries, workplace violence and harassment, terminations, etc.
  • To provide clients with supporting information/documentation to assist them in implementing the advice/ solutions provided
  • To actively own cases to resolution, building rapport and working relationships with clients on each interaction
  • To review client documentation and provide advice accordingly taking their internal terms and conditions into account in each case
  • To be actively involved with on-going training, ensuring that personal knowledge of HR and employment legislation is kept up to date
  • To achieve clear and measured KPIs and to work within set SLAs in order to provide first call resolution

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Degree or Diploma in HR from an accredited school, or Degree/Diploma in relevant education such as: Paralegal or Employment Law
  • CHRP/CPHR designation or obtaining, preferred
  • Outstandingly professional manner at all times
  • Proficient in PC skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving, performance-driven environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks, prioritizing your workload accordingly
  • The ability to motivate yourself and those around you
  • An organized self-starter with an enthusiasm for exceptional service delivery.

Payroll Specialist 

Hybrid; In-Person (3-5x a month) + Remote

    We are actively seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist based in the Greater Vancouver area who can bring expertise and local knowledge to our team. The ideal candidate will not only possess a strong background in payroll administration but also demonstrate familiarity with British Columbia's specific payroll regulations and compliance standards.

What is the role of a Payroll Specialist?

The Payroll Specialist will be working with various clients in multiple industries to meet their payroll needs. This role includes maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.

Responsibilities

  • Process and record financial transactions, including invoices, payments, expenses, and receipts.
  • Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including the accurate calculation and remittance of applicable taxes.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to support financial decision-making.
  • Work closely with our internal team to answer any financial-related queries and provide necessary financial information.
  • Collaborate with external partners, such as auditors and tax advisors, to facilitate accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the finance department to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant bookkeeping, payroll or accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with Canadian tax regulations and compliance is a plus.
  • A diploma or degree in accounting or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

What is the role of a Recruiter?

The recruiter will be working with various clients in multiple industries find the right talent that meets their needs and fits the company culture. This includes screening, interviewing, cold e-mailing (headhunting) top talent for the role. 

Responsibilities

  • Actively source and develop a network of talent and professional candidates and match them with available opportunities.
  • Screen, interview (phone /video), and qualify candidates to meet client and role specifications.
  • Advise and coach candidates throughout the interviewing process providing tips and preparation.
  • Develop job postings and advertising opportunities on online job boards and social media.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews between Candidates and Clients.
  • Provide interview feedback to Candidates from Clients.
  • Conduct professional reference checks.
  • Employment offers negotiations.
  • Maintain and track all recruitment activities through the company’s applicant tracking system.
  • Identify new recruitment strategies and opportunities.
  • Responsible for reaching weekly, monthly, and annual performance goals, sales targets and KPIs to achieve individual targets.
  • Strategize with teammates to accomplish weekly business growth goals while remaining accountable for individual growth goals.
  • Provide the highest quality customer service and customer experience to candidates.
